Kellogg’s Corn Flakes have been sold for more than 100 years and have become known as the classic breakfast cereal. It’s definitely classic for Kellogg’s as it was the first Kellogg’s breakfast cereal made. Did you know that Corn Flakes were invented by mistake? The Kellogg’s brothers were making food that would adhere to their Seventh-day Adventist Church vegetarian diet and by mistake left some cooked wheat out. When they returned it had gone stale but they decided not to waste it and tried to make it into dough anyway. When they forced it through the rollers it broke into flakes! They then experimented by doing it using maize, creating Corn Flakes, and after than rice, making Rice Krispies! Each bowl contains Iron, Vitamin B6, Riboflavin (B2), Thiamin (B1), Folic Acid and Vitamin B12. According to Kellogg’s approximately 2.8 million bowls of Corn flakes are eaten every day in the UK!
