Dolwe is a plant growing in Korea, Japan and China and its scientific name is Gynostemma Pentaphyllum Makinow belonging to family cucurbit. According to Korean Plant Dictionary, it is called Dolwe, Gyogoram, Sugukcha, Sugukgamcha, Deonggul tea. Japanese professor Takemoto first revealed that this Dolwe contains much content of saponin similar to the component of Korean Ginseng and it is known that it contains crude saponin about 4-7 % and active component of Dolwe is gypenoside. |
