The chief type of lemon cultivated is the Maglini, whose fruit is strongly aromatic with quite a sour juice. It has a thin, shiny peel and when fully ripe has a yellow colour. It is made available to the consumer from September to November after artificial ripening. From December to May it is available in its natural yellow colour.
