Pizzoccheri are an ancient type of pasta made with "Grano Saraceno" (buckwheat) flour.
In addition to being an ancient grain, deeply rooted in the traditional cuisine of the Northern Italian region of Valtellina, grano saraceno (buckwheat) provides great health benefits.

    Pastificio di Chiavenna is the oldest manufacturer of pizzoccheri in Italy, dating to the middle of the 1800's and manufacturing according to the original recipe dating back to the 18th century. Pastificio's "Pasta Moro", the most traditional shape of buckwheat pasta, is traditionally cooked with greens and potatoes, and served with a healthy portion of grated cheese.
