Main Function
1. Protect eyesight: marigold lutein can promote the regeneration of rhodopsin in retinal cells, and can also help prevent severe myopia and protect the retina.
2. Anti-oxidation and anti-blue light; when there are enough lutein and zeaxanthin in the macula of the retina, it can absorb light, and at the same time, lutein can filter out the optical fiber and blue light of the screen in life.
3. Reduce the incidence of eye diseases such as Cataracts, age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and glaucoma.
Applications
1. Eye health care and daily health products, such as capsules or tablets.
It is studied that lutein, zeaxanthin and meso-zeaxanthin in the macula block blue light from reaching the underlying structures in the retina, thereby reducing the risk of light-induced oxidative damage that could lead to macular degeneration (AMD). Research published in Archives of Ophthalmology suggests people whose diets include high amounts of healthful foods containing lutein, zeaxanthin and other carotenoids have a lower risk of cataracts than people whose diets contain lower amounts of these nutrients.
2. Colorant: water-soluble lutein used in food, beverage, cosmetics.
Lutein is a natural yellow colorant or pigment belonging to the carotenoid family, is widely distributed throughout the plant and animal kingdoms. Now Lutein also used as a colorant.
3. Feed additive: Lutein powder can improve the color of egg yolk, inhibit the yolk lipid oxidant.
The study showed that lutein can be deposited in eggs up to 55 mg/kg. Marigold extract powder is traditionally used in chicken feed to provide the yellow color of broiler chicken skin and hen eggs and people will get the eggs, then lutein may lead to improved human eye health, in particular, by reducing the risk of Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD).
