Description and Usage: The malagueta pepper seeds have approximately a 3mm size and reddish-brown in colour. It is also well known as "grain of paradise" or "guinea pepper". The malagueta peppers are worthy addition to many everyday dishes. Their hotness is not as strong as in pepper, but more subtle and goes well with vegetables (potatoes, aubergines, pumpkin) .
The seeds contain avoceine and are also used to purify water.
