Brief Introduction
Lutein and Zeaxanthin are yellow pigments belonging to Xanthophylls in carotenoid family. They are Antioxidants found in many plants and Vegetables including corn and marigold flower, etc... Human can not produce xanthophylls, thus xanthophylls found in body come from food intake. Dietary xanthophylls are believed to be essential nutrients for normal vision. Lutein and Zeaxanthin can lower the risk of age related vision loss by protecting the retina from damage of the phoro-oxidative affect of blue light. They can reduce the oxidation of LDL cholesterol thereby reducing the risk of artery clogging.
