RED WINE-MIRAMBELO

Type: Dry red wine – P.D.O.

Available in: Bottles of 750ml

Category: P.D.O. (AOC) Peza (Crete)

Region: Peza – Appellation zone.

Microclimate: Mild winter – dry summer. Major differences between daytime and night time temperatures are observed in some parts of this area due to the high altitude.

Grape Varieties: Kotsifali and Mandilaria

.

Vinification: Picking and transporting of the Grapes in small plastic containers. Typical red wine vinification followed by one year ageing in French and American new oak barriques in our cellar.

Tasting notes: Shiny ruby color. Intense aromas of red fruits & Spices (black pepper) with notes of tobacco, chocolate and leather. Rich well structured taste persisting onto a long-lasting finish. A glorious expression of its terroir.

Serving suggestion: Enjoy it with meat in rich spicy sauces and mature cheeses.

Accompaniment: Ideal with pheasant, partridge and roast lamb.

Best served at a temperature of 16-18° C.

Fascinating and more exciting than a medal, is the distinction that Mirambelo has been awarded by the world-renowned wine critic and writer, Jancis Robinson, MW.

Mirambelo (vintage 2010) is the only Greek wine and is presented in the second place, based on the retail price, among the best 25 red wines, in the list of the Financial Times in the UK with the Top 100 festive wines of the world.

Words are useless, as the list speaks for itself!

So, please find below the description of Mirambelo, given by Ms. Jancis Robinson!

"Mirambelo 2010 Peza: Kotsifali and Mandilaria grapes grown on Crete give a hugely distinctive wine with the scents of dried laurel leaves and no excess sweetness. Bone-dry fine wine. Not that intense but complex, distinctive and interesting. 13%".
