Others believe that it was first prepared by ancient Jews , Molokhia is a mucilaginous , nutritious soup made from a type of greens , known as Molokhia or Jew's mallow also called nalta jute , tussah jute , corchorus olitorius , which is found through Egypt .
Uses: Molokhia considered as a folk medicine , demulcent , deobstruent , diuretic ,lactagogue , purgative , and tonic . Tussa jute is a folk remedy for aches and pains , dysentery , enteritis , fever , dysentery , pectoral pains , and tumors . Ayurvedics used the leaves for ascites , pain , piles and tumors , the leaves are used for cystitis , dysuria , fever and gonorrhea . the cold infusion is said to restore the appetite and strength .
