Properties: buckwheat honey can come in different colors –from dark brown to a black with a reddish tinge. Once freshly gained, it has dark-cherry color. It has very specific taste and strong aroma. In addition to proteins, carbohydrates and fats, buckwheat honey contains iron, calcium, phosphorus, copper, zinc, boron, iodine, nickel, cobalt, and vitamins B1, B2, PP. Compared with light color honey types, buckwheat honey contains twice the essential amino acids and is very rich in microelements, especially iron. The rich mineral and vitamin structure allows the use of buckwheat honey for the treatment of vitamin deficiency, hemorrhages, radiation sickness, hypertension, rheumatism, cardiovascular diseases. Buckwheat honey is an excellent antiseptic and – if applied topically - effectively treats trophic ulcers, purulent wounds, abrasions and other skin diseases.
