This Super Premium beer, which is distributed throughout Mexico, is the country's biggest-selling dark beer. It pours a mid-chestnut brown colour with a quite light nose- malty with a touches of caramel and toffee, plus some hop character. In the mouth the initial hit is of sweetish toffee with a more bitter, caramel-like quality underlying it. It contrives to have quite a smooth mouthfeel, despite being a little fizzy. There are notes of milk chocolate and even a hint of dried raisiny fruit. Towards the finish the gentle maltiness becomes generally drier than the initial taste, and a burnt flavour begins to appear (more obvious the more you drink). Some hop notes creep into the aftertaste, which is otherwise of caramelly, chocolatey but still gentle malt. ABV 5,30%
