Pine seeds can be pressed to extract Pine Nut oil, which is valued both for its mild, nutty Flavour and its health benefits such as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant action. Pine seed oil has a relatively low smoke point, and is therefore not generally used during cooking. Rather, it is added to foods for "finishing", to add flavor. Pine seed oil is also reportedly an excellent bread preservative when a small amount is added to the dough.
