daalis seasonal organic vegetables are grown on soil that has been free of chemical fertlisers since 1993.
we use natural fertilisers, in the form of decomposed cow/buffalo manure, green manure and compost to feed our vegetables, without depleting the soil they grow in.
we use absolutely NO chemical pesticides. instead, we rely on age-old reliable techniques of companion-planting (where different plants are grown next to each other to provide vegetative pest-repulsion and nutrient support), crop-rotation (so that different kinds of soil-nutrients are used by different plants in different seasons), natural pest-repellents (such as neem, garlic, marigold, chillies, ash etc.), as well as constant physical monitoring (to eliminate reliance on chemicals for pest-control).
we also consciously avoid green-housing a practice that helps the production of off-season vegetables with the sole purpose of maximising profits. growing natural plants, especially vegetables, in green-houses and plastic tunnels, is an unnatural phenomenon. these artificially-made, enclosed spaces trap moisture and heat, and create an ideal environment for the growth of fungi and moulds. this automatically increases the need for fungicides, pesticides and other poisonous sprays on the plants.
so, with daali vegetables, youre eating healthy and are safe from poisons!
