This new yellow-fleshed cultivar is hairless and the skin a light brown in color, sweet and well suited to Asian taste pallet.

In 2008 GlobalHort purchased the global PVR for the Huayou KIWIfruit-p1.html" target='_blank'>Kiwifruit cultivar, a new yellow-fleshed kiwifruit cultivar branded Panda™ Golden Kiwi.

Huayou was selected from the seedlings of wild kiwifruit. It is a hybrid variety between deliciosa and Actinidia chinensis. Its main characters tend to A. chinensis.

Huayou fruit ripens from a mild green color to yellow / golden flesh when ready to eat. The fruit is hairless and the skin a light brown in color. Soluble solids level of ripe fruit is between 16% - 19%.
