Paratexin CIB is an aqueous/glycol solution containing an isothiazolinone blend and benzyl alcohol.
Paratexin CIB retains its activity in the presence of most cosmetic ingredients, but should not be used in combination with sulphur oxides, thiols or free amines. Proteins and their hydrolytic degradation products may reduce the activity of Paratexin CIB and slightly higher concentrations may be required.
Paratexin CIB retains its activity and is stable over the pH range 3 7 unless subjected to prolonged elevated temperatures.
Paratexin CIB is an extremely powerful preservative, typically used at concentrations of 0.05 0.15%. It is recommended that a maximum of 0.10% is applied to leave-on products.
Paratexin CIB is non-irritating to skin, eyes or mucous membranes at permitted use concentrations and may be used in a wide variety of formulation types, but is particularly suitable for use in surfactant-based rinse-off products and bulk surfactants.
