Peppermint is known for it high content of menthol, so high in fact, that menthol crystals form on the surface of the leaves. There are several species of this perennial herb that can grow to 1 meter in height, spreading due to their underground ‘runners’. Peppermint has hairy leaves with serrated edges and purple spiked flowers. The peppermint plant also produces Piperita Mentha oil.

USES:
