| Frukton produced 250 tons of pomegranates in 2008, and the production is expected to be between 400 and 500 tons for the 2009 season. In addition to this amount which is produced entirely on land that is wholly owned by affiliated companies in the Gencer Group, Frukton is able to leverage its local agricultural contacts in the Antalya region to increase its export capacity to meet additional demand.
The production target for the 2010 season is 1,000 tons of pomegranate production on its own land, as well as additional capacity through trading operations on the local spot market as described above.
Frukton is also currently planning a vertical expansion into cold storage by building its own cold storage facilities in Antalya, Turkey. | ||
Frukton Food and Agriculture Co. specializes in the cold storage and export of Pomegranates to Central and Eastern Europe.
Frukton supplies its fruit from a select group of local producers in Antalya, as well as its own production facilities which are projected to yield 400 - 500 tones during the 2009 season.
Frukton insists on the highest for all its suppliers as well as its own production. All of the 2008 production was certified organic, and the company is in the process of obtaining organic certificates for the 2009 harvest.
The management team consists of Turgut Gençer and Yusuf Özdalga and the Company currently operates out of its offices in Antalya.
