Descriptions

Corn starch,use disc separator to separate the starch and gluten,the gluten ,also called protein,will be coming from the light liquid phase while the crude starch milk discharged from the heavy liquid phase,,there is about 1%-2% gluten remains in the crude starch milk which needs to be deprived of . In the old fashioned process,during this process,3 disc separators would be adopted of the same model but the different diameter of the nozzles.For the large investment ,such group has been out of date.Today,for bigger capacity factory ,one set of disc separator with a 9-12 stage hydro cyclone to wash the starch milk and get the pure corn starch.commonly,1kg corn could obtain 0.7kg corn starch. 

 

 

Working Principle

PDSS type separator is mainly consists the feed device, rotating drum, cover, the body,horizontal shaft, vertical shaft, ground water pump, machine base, motor and other components.

When the rotating drum running a high speed, when the material enter into the disc separation area through the feeding pump (1), under the action of the centrifugal force field, the starch particles slip to the inside wall of the drum, discharged from the nozzle(4),and the light phase like protein and others will collect to the drum center, discharged out of the machine via centripetal pump(2).The machine has a washing bottom pump, the washing water into the drum from the vertical center hole(7), it is used for washing the yellow paste of the starch material, and effectively improve the quality of starch.

 

 

Installation Notice

1 Take into consideration the enough space available to maintenance and repair separator before installation.

2 The foundation must be firm, plan and leveling.

3 All the pipes connecting with separator should be flexible.

4 The operation water of the separator must be soft water, the pressure of which is between 0.025MPa and 0.03MPa.
