According to one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems,Ayurveda, storing water in copper pots, mugs or bottles purifies the water and helps balance all three Doshas — Kapha, Vata and Pitta. Copper may also help regulate blood pressure and heart rate and may regulate the functioning of the thyroid gland. There are many more health benefits of drinking water from copper bottles or cups.
This 100% pure copper tumbler, produced in a workshop in the beautiful rural village of Porterville, is a proudly South African product. This shiny, sleek and oh-so-Instagram-able tumbler is also naturally anti-microbial. Fill your copper tumbler with water for about 6-8 hours prior to initial consumption to allow the oligodynamic effect (metals killing off bacteria) to take place. Looking for a copper straw? Drinking from a copper vessel has many health benefits, but it’s not necessary to drink water from your copper tumbler all day long. Once in the morning and maybe once in the evening is enough. After you’ve started drinking your water from your copper tumbler for three continuous months, take a break for one month and then continue following this ancient Ayurvedic practice again for three months. This product is not intended to diagnose, cure or prevent any disease. Please contact your health care provider should you develop abdominal pain, vomiting or symptoms such as anemia or diarrhea that is often bloody and may be blue.
Do not use for acidic juices, such as orange or grape juice.
As copper reacts with oxygen in the air it can change its colour to dark brown or black. This happens naturally due to a chemical reaction known as oxidation. Simply squeeze half a lemon into the tumbler, add 1 tablespoon of salt and rub the mixture onto the tumbler with a soft cloth until the stains are gone. Rinse thoroughly and dry well. (If lemons are not available to you, you can use vinegar instead. Mix 1 tablespoon salt with 2 tablespoons of vinegar.)
