MARKET REPORT (month of October 2009)

Raisins:   Market prices were stable in October, even was weak thru the end of the month.

 Wineries started purchasing the rain demaged fruits, fast.  We think all will be gone in November.

In this connection, while rain demaged fruits are wet to be used in normal packing, they are ideal for use in raisin paste.  So, raisin paste prices from Turkey are extremely attractive as wineries are the only competition.

Shipments at the end of October reached  51.200 tons.  Average fob net price was $ 1.760.

Dried figs:   Some medium size stocks, dried before rains, are still available, while big sizes seem to be sold out.  Prices leveled in October.
