Riversdale is a landmark area in the Wairarapa region of New Zealand which occupies the south-eastern corner of the North Island. The name Wairarapa means "Glistening Waters", and is said to have been applied by an early Maori explorer, Huanui, who saw the rivers and lake from the mountains to the west.

The coastal areas of the Wairarapa are known for their rugged and unforgiving landscape. Riversdale Manuka Honey is harvested from the isolated Manuka trees that grow in this region. These forests are far from civilization, far from pollution and far from any other flowering plants that may dilute the honey’s purity. This extreme and wild landscape is challenging for our beekeepers but produces a pure and highly prized Manuka honey.
