Natural preservation
Fat oxidation is one of the major problems of the food industry. Oxy'Less and StabilEnhance products, extracted from rosemary, a plant recognized for its antioxidant properties, are natural answers to this issue. They are standardized to carnosic acid, the major phenolic compound of this plant with antioxidant properties. Some other compounds (rosmanol, carnosol...) with similar properties can also be found in these extracts.
The phenolic compounds trap free radicals produced in the first stage of oxidation, which delays the rancidity process. The shelf life of food products can be extended in a natural way by adding these extracts.
The flavor of Oxy'Less and StabilEnhance extracts is light, and compatible with most food applications. They are offered in several formulations: powder, liquid, water soluble, oil soluble...
Therefore they can be used in many food products: seasonings, meat products, beverages, confectionery and ingredients (flavors, colors).
For a higher protection of food media that are highly sensitive to oxidation, the Oxy'Block line offers blends of antioxidant products. They are made of rosemary extracts with other antioxidants having a complementary action, such as tocopherols, ascorbyl palmitate and citric acid.
NATUREX conducted many studies focusing on the application of Oxy'Less and StabilEnhance extracts in food products, and their antioxidant activity compared to that of synthetic antioxidants. These are available upon request.
