One of the rarest Beers in the world, brewed only once a year on December 6th, subsequently fermented and matured for about 10 m
Castle Eggenberg is one of the oldest breweries in Austria. It is sited in a twelfth century castle and has been producing beer, in the former lord’s brewery, in a commercial basis since 1681. The beer that had been previously consumed exclusively by the castle owners was than served in the surrounding restaurants, pubs and guest houses. Soon the barrels were on their way deep into the Salzkammergut and the alpine lowlands. This romantic brewery was purchased two centuries ago by the forefathers of the present owner and has remained a family possession ever since.
Eggenberg is today one of the leading speciality breweries in Europe. Many gold medals and rewards at several fairs on different continents of the world is a proof of the acceptance and the high quality of Eggenberger beers. Eggenberger specialities are available in most countries of Europe, North America, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong etc.
