3. Is targeted at the top strata of society.
Customers who drink Silverpot gourmet teas are likely to remain faithful to this brand, as equivalent quality products are not available anywhere in the world markets. These factors combine to create a good reputation and reference point for Silverpot Tea, which makes it easier to introduce the other product ranges.
We expect products like the organic tea range will initially be retailed through natural and organic food stores, and thereafter gradually “infiltrate” to the organic foods shelves of supermarkets / hypermarkets. By doing so, the Silverpot Tea brand would gradually gain visibility and recognition at the mass market level, making it easier to introduce mass market products subsequently.
While we are happy to work exclusively through your organization in Mexico, I think you will understand that in return we would expect (i) you / your organization / all related persons & organizations to not handle any other tea / tisane / other similar beverage brand from any other company from India or another county (ii) your organization to generate a certain guaranteed and incremental business each year. We completely appreciate that it takes much time, effort and investment to successfully introduce a new brand in any market. Therefore, I suggest we work exclusively and without any quantity commitments for the first year, and depending upon that experience we try to build up a longer term arrangement.
It may be possible, and even advisable, for your organization to import and distribute Gourmet Teas, Luxury Teas and Professional Teas in Mexico - primarily due to the fact that much of the business will be through institutional sales. With the addition of new ranges, like Organic Teas or the mass market products, in the future it would be necessary for you to appoint professional distribution companies for these additional products, and your organization should function as the importer.
The next step would be to undertake sampling. It is possible to do this in 2 ways:
(i) We send you one set of samples, on the understanding that the samples will be provided by us free of charge and you will bear the couriering charges by (a) either giving us your import account number with DHL / Fedex / TNT / UPS, together with the name of your firm holding the account (b) or remit to us through SWIFT or Western Union Money Transfer the DHL couriering charges in advance. In either case, please remember to give us your complete postal address with phone number, and advise before hand if any certificates / documents are required for customs clearance of the parcel in Mexico.
(ii) You place a trial order of 1 case each of all your selected products, and we send this to you as a commercial shipment by air freight. The advantage with this option is that (a) you will be able to go through all the importation formalities without substantial commercial risk (b) you will have enough products for introducing Silverpot Tea to prospective institutional customers (c) you can also sell Silverpot Tea through your boutiques to gain first hand marketing experience and customer feedback.
