Single Grain whiskies have benefited from the worldwide interest in the Single Malt industry. In the search for rare and remote distilleries, this unknown category has been highlighted to the connoisseur. Historically grain whiskies have been distilled in continuous stills with high volumes for the Blended Scotch industry. Single grains are produced at a single distillery from water, wheat, corn (maize) and unmalted barley - they do not use the copper pot still. Many are now considered on a par with single malts.
