SPANISH WINE CASTILLO DE MALUENDA ROSE SELECTION 2009
FROM THE DENOMINACION "CALATAYUD" SPAIN
Grape Varieties: 100% Garnacha from our own vineyards.
Areas of Production: From the Calatayud Denominación de Origen, at an average altitude of 800 metres, from the villages of Morata de Jiloca and Alarba.
Winemaking: The first selection of grapes took place in the vineyard. The grapes were hand-picked in the optimum ripening moment, during the first two weeks of October. After crushing and poured into vats, came the saignée of the juices, the settling and the alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 15ºC.
Tasting Notes: The colour is an intense Strawberry pink, clean and bright. Intense on the nose, combining floral notes, such as roses and orange blossom, with aromas of Blackberry and raspberry. It’’s complex and, aftermoving the glass, fruity aromas with hints of spices show up. Fresh and nice on the palate, mild
and with a long and nice finish.
