Brief description

Steelhead trout (Onchorhynchus mykiss) sometimes also called salmon trout is anadromous (sea run) species of Rainbow trout and is referred to Salmonidae family. Steelhead trout is distinquished from its relatives by size and deeper pink meat colour, gained from crustaceans eaten by Steelhead trout in sea. Salmon trout is cultivated together with Atlantic salmon. The leading cultivating country is Chile. Steelhed trout has deeper pink meat colour and is extremely popular in Asia as a top fish for Sashimi.
