Sui Generis 2009
Sui Generis is an exclusive wine made out of old vines, producing high quality grape over 15 acres of land in the very heart of the young wine appellation Montsant, in the villages of El Masroig (Coma de Calderers) and Els Guiamets (Vinya Vella and Aubaga).
The unfertile red-sandstone based soil with high clay contents obliges the roots to search humidity deep under but the result is up to their effort.
The grape varieties used are the most traditional and widespread in this area : Carignan/Samsó and Red Grenache.
Three winemakers are taking good care of these old vineyards since 2004: Marie-Amélie Ponce, Philippe Jobert and Jordi González.

“The 2007 Sui Generis Crianza is a blend of 6 Grapes including Tempranillo,Cariñena, Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah aged for 12 months in French and American oak, sourced from 50-year-old estate vineyards.
It offers up a liqueur-like bouquet with sweet, jammy fruit on the palate.Reminiscent of a confiture of blackberryand black raspberry, it has a velvety texture and seamless finish. This is an easy-to-understand, pleasure-bent, offering that will deliver enjoyment for another 5-6 years.
