  Taiwanese Green Propolis Extract

  As the most important ‘chemical weapon’ of bees against pathogenic microorganisms, propolis   has been used as a remedy since ancient times. To produce propolis, bees mix substances secreted by and exuded from the wounds of plants with enzymes from their cephalic glands to form a rubber-like material to patch up any cracks or leaks in the bee hives.

 

The chemical composition of propolis depends on the type of native plants at the site of collection and thus on the geographic and climatic characteristics of the location. Our products use Taiwanese green propolis collected only between April and August when the plant nutrientsare most abundant. According to the research done by the Department of Biochemistry, School of Medicine of National Taiwan University, this Taiwanese green propolis contains bioactive constituents by the name of propolins.Propolins are seldom found in propolis from other regions such as Brazil, China and Australia.
