“Sculpture Cans”
The surface of these cans is sculpted with our original techniques. The beauty of sculpture stands out on these works of art especially when light reflects off the contours of the steel.
Kotodo-Can
“Traditional Skills - A Never Changing Passion”
The spirit of artisans from Edo Shitamachi.
Traditional skills and tradition passed on from artist to artist.
Since our establishment in 1922, we have focused on producing cans which relay the “honesty” and “kindness” created from detailed handiwork.
Each can is carefully created as we pay delicate attention to all steps from material selection to finishing.
“Making handicrafts with a never-changing policy.”
Our artisans have worked for countless hours, and created new traditions. For the user and tea environment, they work passionately with their fellow artisans to continue creating products with a never-changing policy.
Kotodo Steel Can
Kotodo Takahashi Works, a pioneer of can production, uses “steel” as its main material. Steel cans are perfect for long-term storage of tea leaves and seaweed, as they do not let light through, they prevent odor transfer, and also prevent moisture and oxidization.
* We pay particular attention to safety and the environment. Only lead-free solder and paints are used .
* Moisture-prevention inner lid
While inner lids are typically made of polypropylene, Kotodo cans have inner lids made of recyclable steel. It takes seven steps to produce our inner lids, but our entire tea can, including the lid, body and inner lid can be recycled.
* All cut edges are curled inward to enhance safety.
* When the lid is twisted and shut, it makes a “click” when locked. In the locked condition, the pictures on the lid and body are perfectly aligned.| Type: Container | Style: can | Processing Type: Steel Can |
