Information:
Annual herb, 10-35cm high. Stems erect, more branched, opposite, fleshy, with nodes, grayish green or purple. Leaves not developed, scaly, opposite, 1.5mm long, apex acute, base with sheath-like, margin membranous. Spikelets, short stems, inflorescences long 1-5cm, terminal; flowers bisexual, every 3 flowers integrated 1 cluster, into the fleshy inflorescence axis; perianth, fleshy, upper flat; stamens 1, rarely 2, anthers round, out of the perianth; ovary ovate; stigma 2, drill, papillary small protrusion. Fruit ovate, pericarp membranous. Seeds upright, oblong, long 1-1.5mm, hook-shaped thorn; embryo horseshoe-shaped, no endosperm. Flowers, fruit from June to August.
