Twente Current Bread is a classic regional product from Twente, the region where Bolletje has its roots. It is a well-filled fruit bread, in large slices. This product was originally eaten (and presented as a gift) to celebrate births, as an alternative to the more well-known 'beschuit met muisjes' (rusks sprinkled with candied aniseed). It goes without saying that it is also a splendid product to accompany coffee or tea, or on a specially decorated weekend breakfast table.
