The principal focus of the Iansagro Oils business is to supply rapeseed oil to manufacturers of salmon feed and foods for human consumption.
The entry into this business was completed in January 2007 with the purchase of an oil-extraction plant in the city of Talca in Chile’s 6th Region. This plant has a processing capacity of 100 tons of raw material a day, which means a production of approximately 12,000 MT of oil per year.
During 2007, the Talca plant processed 4,500 MT of raw material which enabled it to have rapeseed oil for its own sales and sunflower oil for third parties, with sales of Ch$448 million.
