AlthoughVietnam STAR ANISEED is of very good quality, the quality is not veryconsistent, as harvest crop is only from 1,500 tonnes to 2,000 tonnes,and very much influenced by weather which is very changeable inVietnam. For example, in 2000, July crop is coming very badly due tounfavourable weather, bringing about a serious shortage in quantity forexport. And as the result, the quality gets worse: only highly brokenStar aniseed from previous crop is available, but very little left.This is the reason why its price fluctuates widely all the time. However, in 2001, Star Aniseed is in a good crop but China is absorbinga large quantity of this material, thus the price is also surging fromtime to time.
