An amazing rose wine produced in the Ribatejo region with good acidity.

 

With an aroma of red fruits, strawberries and currants. It’s a dry wine and very fresh. Very tasty in the mouth and with a good acidity.

 

It should be served at 18ºC, with fish dishes, seafood and salads.

In Portugal we usually drink the wine with our “petiscos” dishes. “Petiscos” are small dishes with assorted kinds of food like fish, seafood and meat. Like the famous “Iberian Tapas”.

 

Appellation: Regional Tejo

Grapes: Tinta Roriz (70%) and Touriga Nacional (30%)

 

Tinta Roriz

Is a red-wine blend used commonly in the Douro, Dao, Ribatejo and Alentejo regions. In this context, 'Tinta Roriz' may refer to any combination of Touriga Nacional and/or Touriga Franca. This grape is being used increasingly in dry, red table wines.

Capable of producing dry red table wines of very high quality, which is precisely what, is emerging from the regions' modern winemakers.

This grape variety produces wines with high alcohol content and low acidity, ideal for ageing, as they are very resistant to rust.

 

Touriga Nacional

This is a noble grape variety, very appreciated in Portugal. Though initially grown in the Dão region, it rapidly expanded to the area of Douro, in order to be used in the production of Port. Recently, producers found out its value for the production of red table wines, so the cultivation of this grape variety was spread to other regions, such as Ribatejo and Alentejo.
Touriga Nacional is of low production: it has many, but small bunches. The berries have a high concentration of sugar, colour and aromas.
Wines produced or blended with this grape variety are very balanced, alcoholic and have a good ageing potential.
