Water Washed Cappings Beeswax
Characteristics: Light yellow to yellow colour of varying intensity with a fine grain matt, non-crystalline fracture. Becomes soft and pliable when warmed by hand. Odour noticeable and characteristic of honey. Relative density is about 0.96. Practically insoluble in water, completely soluble in volatile and fixed oils.
Processing: Pure crude cappings beeswax is gently melted over clean untreated bore water to remove any traces of honey and is then allowed to settle. The molten beeswax is then cast into rectangular moulds. Batch size is 1000 kgs. Colour is uniform throughout each batch.

Glycerol and other polyhydric alcohols: Not more than 0.5%
can be supplied at extra cost. They are performed by a certified analytical laboratory using the methods set out in the British Pharmacopeia 2008 edition.
Certificates of analysis are also able to be provided to USP and Ph Eur specifications
Dross content: 0.5 % maximum
Form: Rectangular blocks measuring approx 220 mm x 220 mm x 240 mm and each weighing approx 10 kgs net.
Packing: Packed on pallets each containing 100 blocks, and weighing approx 1000 kgs net and shrink wrapped and strapped. Each pallet measures 1.33 cubic metres.
Hazard:
Water should not be added to beeswax which is at a temperature exceeding 95 deg C as it will cause uncontrolled foaming.
