Some of the most productive agricultural land in South Africa can be found in the lush Breede River Valley approximately two hours east of Cape Town. In 1995, S·A·D invested both capital and expertise in Werda Products near Bonnievale, in the heart of the Breede River Valley. The factory stands amidst fields of vegetables and produces ready-to-eat salads in long-life packaging. Using tried and trusted recipes, Werda's range of beetroot, bean, carrot, and pasta salads are vacuum packed for convenience and offer long shelf life with or without refrigeration.
The choice of packaging is inventive-high-tensile shrink-wrap instead of glass or can. The square packs are transport-friendly and the meal-sized portions are proving increasingly popular with consumers.
