Characteristics:Colourless needless or white, crystalline powder, odorless or almost odorless. Very soluble in water. The sweetness equals that of sucrose.
Functions and Applications:
1). As raw material, D-xylose can be produced xylitol by hydrogenation action.
2). D-xylose is used as food coloring agent. It is mainly used in food, beverage, meat products, and sausage etc., it makes the products fresh and bright-colored, delicious to lead appetite.
3). Due to D-xylose have fewer calories; it is beneficial to health of body. So it is also used in animal feeds making.
