Lutein is extracted from the dried ground flower petals of the marigold and dried alfalfa.
It is an oil soluble yellow carotenoid pigment that is less sensitive to oxidation than many other carotenoids. It is one of the most commonly consumed carotenoid pigments.
Lutein has good heat and light stability in final application and provides golden yellow shades.
Curcumin is extracted as an oleoresin from turmeric rhizomes. The oleoresin is further purified and deodorised to produce the curcumin extract.
Lemon shades are produced under acidic conditions with a progressive change to more orange hues in alkaline systems.
