Glutinous Corn is one of the special types of corn commercially grown in the Cameroon North .
Glutinous corn is one of the special types of corn commercially grown in the Cameroon North West Region. It is grown mainly for food and the stover/herbage is used as animal feed. Glutinous corn can be harvested as “green” that can be boiled or broiled and can be harvested as “grain” for processing as chichacorn or cornick or can be harvested at full maturity that is after 105 days which can be dried and processed for corn flour.
However, not all glutinous cultivars are good for green corn and grain production (for cornick). Tinguil et al. (MMSU) evaluated different cultivars that are acceptable to intended markets.
