Zeppi's Honey

liqueur comes from a Maltese tradition that was passed on from generation to generation. The honey used as an ingredient in our liqueur is supplied by local apiaries and is extracted by bees from local wild thyme, a wild growing shrub which flowers in early summer. The process is then a production process with alcohol controlled at 25%. We adopted this formula to produce an exquisite drink with a heart-warming feeling. Zeppi's Harruba
liqueur is made from carob beans which are harvested by Maltese farmers then crushed, roasted and boiled to produce a syrupy liquid with aromas and colour reminiscent of cocoa to which orange extracts are then added.

These fruit beans of the carob tree, has been a prominent component of the Maltese vegetation for several centuries, are also used to produce carob syrup, which is still used as a soothing medicinal for sore throats.

This liqueur can be served chilled, on the rocks and can also be taken neat to close off an exquisite meal.
