Following extensive surveys on healthy nutrition and good functioning of the human organism, ZITA decided to launch this calcium enriched strained yoghurt for its customers. What led us to this decision?
Calcium(Ca) and its basic role to the human body
The human body basically contains 1.2kgs of calcium, on average, 90% of which is found in the human bones and teeth. It contributes to the good functioning of the musculature (including the human heart) as well as the neural system. It also collaborates to blood coagulation and the action of certain enzymes. Calcium concentration is kept stable in the blood and controlled by the thyroid.
The lack of calcium
Generally, lack of calcium may cause rachitic to young children, osteoporosis to adult women or osteomalakia to adult men. More specifically these suggest soft bones and spine deformation. Even more, teeth growing and development may be problematic.
Sources of Calcium
Increased calcium concentrations may be found in all dairy products, fish consumed with bones, enriched serial, pulse and green vegetables. According to studies, the proposed daily dose of calcium on humans should be:
