1962 The founder Konosuke Hata and Shigee Miyajima established Shinshu
Yakuhin Kenkyusho K.K. inUeda-shi, Nagano.
Started research in herbal medicines such as Panax ginseng and
Rehmanniaeradix, and production and sale of medicines.
1969 Acquired production permission for Japanese pharmacopoeia Ginseng.
1972 Approved Panax Keigyoku <Keigyokukou> production as medicine and
launched in market.
1976 Approved Royal Panax production
1979 Introduced Panax Keigyoku <Keigyokukou> 210g
1990 Constructed a factory in Fujiyama, Ueda-shi
1999 Built a stone monument in Shintoku, Hokkaido where Rehmanniae
radix is procured by the contracted farmers.

--- Devoted to herbal medicines ---
(a) Encouraging domestic cultivation which is safe and secure Fresh Rehmanniae
radix is indispensable to our major product Panax Keigyoku <Keigyokukou>.
We contracted with farmers in Hokkaido and use their fresh organic
Rehmanniae radix as a safe and secure ingredient.
Regarding Panax ginseng, low-priced imports are everywhere and the number
of the domestic farmers decreases. Shinshu (Nagano Prefecture) is well-
known for producing Panax ginseng and therefore we endeavor to secure
Panax ginseng from Shinshu through a good relationship to farmers there.
Our product Shinshu Panax ginseng tea is made only from the domestic
Panax ginseng.
(b) Research and development of herbal medicines
There are three different types of Rehmanniae radix for Chinese medicine,
1) fresh, 2) dried, and 3) processed. The process goes before completion
through 9 times of being soaked in Chinese fermented alcoholic drink called
Huang Jiu and dried. We are the single manufacturer that produces all
the three types domestically. We also keep studying the process to maintain
the amount of the active ingredient catalpol in Rehmanniae radix.
