Short Brief

Rosmarinic acid is a natural antioxidant with strong antioxidant activity, helping to prevent cell damage caused by free radicals and therefore reducing the risk of cancer and atherosclerosis.  Pharmacological Effects: 药理作用

1 Antioxidant 

Rosmarinic acid has a strong free radical scavenging activity and antioxidant effect in the body. Studies have shown that its mechanism of action is: rosmarinic acid competes with unsaturated fatty acids to bind to lipid peroxides to terminate the chain reaction of lipid peroxidation and reduce the rate of lipid peroxidation, while rosmarinic acid is oxidised to the quinone form; rosmarinic acid inhibits the respiratory burst of neutrophils and inhibits the release of lysosomes by reducing intracellular calcium ion concentration; and inhibits the oxidation of endothelial cell-regulated low-density lipoproteins. The antioxidant effect of rosmarinic acid is related to its structure, and studies have shown that the o-diphenol hydroxyl group is the material basis for the free radical scavenging activity. Furthermore, the conjugated double bond at the C3 position has a potentiating effect
