Ambarella or June Plum is a tree which grows up to 9-20m in height. Even though this plant native to Melanesia and Polynesia, its fruit very much popular in Southeast Asia due to high concentration vitamins. Other than fruit, Ambarella leaves are also edible. In Indonesia, Thailand, and Costa Rica leaves are used in salads and other food preparations. As its fruit, Ambarella leaf extracts are known to have significant antimicrobial and antioxidant properties.
