The healing properties of birch (botanical origin-Betula pendula Roth / Betula pubescens Ehrh.) were mentioned in herbalists of the XVI-XVII centuries. Currently, the extract is used in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food industries. The leaf (Folium) is used for the production of dry extract. Birch extract is a fine-grained powder. It has greenish-brown colour with a characteristic taste and smell. The extract is used in the treatment of ulcers and disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, biliary dyskinesia, bronchitis and viral diseases, as a diuretic for edema of cardiovascular and renal origin.
