Black rice PE.is a purplish red powder or liquid, which soluble in water, ethanol and propylene glycol, insoluble in acetone and mineral ether.
It has good heat and light stability but sensitive to oxidant, Heavy metals such as sodium,potassium, calcium, barium, zine, copper have no effect on black rice P.E, but tin will turn its color to rosy red.
Lead and Fe2+will make the color fade and precipitate.
The color in water solution during pH1~6 is red, but the color change light brown to yellow in PH7~12.
