A quality wine, typical for Northern Bulgaria. Very rich and soft taste, balanced with freshness.

Karabunar Winery is situated 80km. from the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia, near the village of Karabunar, in one of the traditional wine-producing regions in the country. The village is widely known for the production of quality wines for many years, and for this reason it was even allowed to preserve its original Turkish name after the "Rebirth Process" of the1980s. Its altitude is 250m. and it is located 9km from the municipal centre, the city of September and 16.5km from the municipal town, Pazardzhik.

The winery was built and opened in 2008 as a destillery. Its vineyard consists of 80 acres of Red Misket and 80 acres of Dimyat, both traditional bulgarian Grape varieties, grown for the production of high-quality grape brandies. The vascular capacity for destillates' maturing and aging came up to a total of 25, 000 liters, consisting mainly of 225, 350 and 500 litre oak barrels.

In 2010 Karabunar Winery was expanded and modernized, so as to achieve its full potential in the production of white and red wines and wine materials of a high quality. At present, the winery has a production processing capacity of 400,000 tons of grapes.

After the expansion of the winery began the vinification of the grapes from our vinyards in Kilifarevo, Veliko Tarnovo municipality, which consist of 180 acres from the grape varieties Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Fran and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines produced from our vine plantations are known by the name BULGARIAN HERITAGE and our grape brandies - under the names KULTURNA, BASTUNITE, and SHAROVITZA. All of our grape brandies are produced using the classical technology with destillation of high-quality wine products in a copper still (1500 l.) with a rectification column from the Red Misket grape variety. After that they are left to mature from 1 to 6 years in oak barrels in the cellars of the winery, so as to be able to meet the expectations even of the most demanding connoisseurs of quality drinks.
