Caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE) is a natural SERM found in bee propolis extract shown to prevent estrogen binding to the estrogen receptor . In addition, CAPE has been shown in recent research to inhibit production of a molecule called NF-kB (5,6) which is associated with inflammation and obesity. It is also known to have antimutagenic, anticarcinogenic and Immunomodulatory properties.
