Clams are bivalve molluscs. Within the different species, the high quality of white and golden clams extracted from the Galician estuaries is to be highlighted. They live buried in sandy substrata and they show long and separate siphons.
The generic name of razor shell is given to bivalve molluscs with typical long and rectangular shells. They live buried in little muddy sandy bottoms from low water levels to six to ten metres in depth. They are consumed fresh and canned. The quality of the ones extracted in the Galician estuaries is very appreciated.
